The Korean Peninsula is extended to the south in the eastern verge of the asian continent. The Korean Republic -democratic- in the south and the communist bloc in the north, are separated since 1945 by the Demilitarised Zone.
Seoul or Seoul Special City, Seoul teukbyeolsi, is the capital of the Republic of Korea; is their historic capital for over 600 years. Administratively, consists of nine provinces (do), a part of its capital, has six metropolitan cities: Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju, Daejeon and Ulsan, 77 cities (si) and 88 additional counties (gun).
